Source companions
The application source and third-party source/build-input archives belong alongside the binary distribution. Source files are reference and build material; you do not need to install them to run M³.

Each component keeps its terms.
The MIT licence covers original code only to the extent owned by its named copyright holder. It does not relicense the complete bundle. mpv, FFmpeg, Python, yt-dlp, QuickJS, Microsoft components and other dependencies retain their own terms.
Review LICENSE.txt, the component licence collection and Microsoft binary terms in the documentation share. The unchanged candidate notices and source-delivery records remain authoritative.
